BANGALORE Oct 24: The jinxed second edition of the Global Investors’ Meet has been postponed again. It will be held in late May or early June next year, instead of the scheduled Jan 11 and 12. It had been postponed twice earlier.
Flood-damaged roads and the 20-day legislature session in November are the main reasons for putting off the event. At a meeting convened by large and medium industries minister Murugesh R Nirani here on Friday, principal secretaries of various departments said they didn’t have enough time to prepare for GIM.
Infrastructure development department principal secretary V Madhu, IT&BT principal secretary Ashok Kumar Manoli, energy principal secretary K Jairaj and others made a presentation to the chief minister and sought time to prepare for the GIM. “As most officials are busy in reconstruction work in flood-hit regions and major connections to industrial sites are badly damaged, the GIM will be held in May last week or June first week,’’ Nirani said.
